A sandbox to try things in, and tiers you name yourself

Your organization now has a sandbox: a separate test copy you can fill with a working sample shop, click through freely, and reset whenever you like — nothing in it reaches a real customer. Product tiers become yours to name, and receiving and purchase orders stop showing figures from deliveries that were undone.

Worth testing first

If you only have twenty minutes, these are the changes most likely to affect your day — and the ones where we'd most like to hear if something feels off.

  • Set up your sandboxOwners and admins: click Set up sandbox at the top of any page and choose sample data. In a few seconds you are inside a working shop — orders in every state, stock, suppliers and production runs — with an orange frame around the screen so you always know where you are. Exit sandbox takes you straight back.
  • Send an email that never leavesInside the sandbox, move an order to out for delivery. The customer email appears in the sandbox Outbox, exactly as it would look, instead of being sent. Open it to see the preview.
  • Name your own product tiersGo to Settings → Catalog → Product Tiers. Your existing Top Shelf, Mid Shelf and Budget are already there to rename, reorder or add to. Then open a product and set its tier — it now belongs to the product, not each size.
  • Undo a received purchase orderTake a purchase order back out of Delivered. It should now read as not received, with the full amount on order — not the numbers from the receipt you undid.
  • Check which location you are inOpen the home screen with a location already open. It now says Switch location and marks the one you are working in, instead of asking you to choose all over again.

Sandbox

Trying something out used to mean doing it to your real shop, or switching into a shared demo organization that looked like just another business. The sandbox is test mode for your own organization, the way payment and commerce tools do it.

  • One sandbox per organization, shared by your team. Owners and admins set it up, reset it or delete it. Everyone else on the team can go in once it exists. People who are not part of an organization never see it.
  • Start with sample data or start empty. Sample data is a complete shop dated from today, for training staff or showing someone around. Empty gives you a clean slate to build exactly the situation you want to test.
  • Nothing leaves it. Order updates, campaign emails and notifications raised in the sandbox land in its Outbox instead of reaching anyone, so you can see what would have gone out.
  • You always know you are in it. An orange frame and banner stay on every page, and the location switcher is replaced by a Sandbox badge.
  • Your team and organization stay in one place. Team, organization and location settings are managed in your real organization, so the sandbox shows a note pointing you there. Removing someone from your team removes their sandbox access too.
  • Reset brings it back to a clean start. Choose sample data or empty again. Resetting also brings the sample dates up to today.
  • It replaces the Demo org switch. The old switch moved you into a separate shared organization; the sandbox is yours.

Product tiers

Price Tier was a fixed list of three grades that had to be set on every size of every product, including things a grade makes no sense for.

  • It is now called Product Tier, and it lives on the product. Set it once per product rather than once per size. Where your sizes disagreed, the product took the grade most of them had, rounding up on a tie.
  • The tiers are yours. Add, rename, reorder and switch off tiers under Settings → Catalog. Your existing three are already there.
  • A product can have no tier. For accessories and anything else where a shelf grade does not apply.
  • Switching a tier off does not remove it from products. It just stops being offered for new ones. A tier still in use cannot be deleted — the screen tells you how many products carry it.
  • Tiers are for you, not your customers. They were never shown on the storefront, and a note that claimed they grouped the menu has been removed.

Receiving and purchase orders

  • An undone receipt no longer looks received. A purchase order taken back out of Delivered was still showing "received with variance" and pricing itself at the partial amount. It now reads as not received, and the on-order totals in Sourcing are right again.
  • Deleting a purchase order archives it. Deleting used to erase the order but leave its stock history pointing at nothing, with no record of who removed it. Now it is archived and logged, and stock movements that came from it still open it, read-only.
  • Stock movements read in the units you sell. A receipt of seven quarters now says seven quarters, not "49 quarter", and names the purchase order by its number.
  • Counts that disagreed now agree. The Sourcing header and the Open tab counted open orders differently, and the receipt summary counted a short-and-damaged line twice. Both fixed.

Getting around

  • The home screen knows where you are. With a location open it reads Switch location and marks your current one. It only asks which location to open when none is chosen yet.
  • No more seeing another business by mistake. If you belong to more than one organization and have not chosen one, Team and Warehouses wait for you to pick instead of quietly showing the other business.
  • An account that looked empty was not. If the location you last had open was removed, every page showed nothing — which looked like lost data. You now land in a location you can still reach.
  • Menus, Campaigns and Drivers are marked Soon. These three sections now show a Soon label and a short description of what each will do, while they are being finished. Nothing you set up in them before is lost.
  • Cultivar looks like Cultivar. Sign-in, onboarding, the driver app and the browser tab now carry the real Cultivar mark. Inside your dashboard your own logo and name still come first.

Six improvements shipped in this release. The quickest way to see all of it is to set up a sandbox with sample data and click around — nothing you do there can reach a customer.
